Jena is a spry 12 year old girl in a rush to become a woman. She lives with her father, Frank, a man that is dedicated to his field, but disconnected from his family, and her mother Emily, a simple, frumpy, housewife that has done nothing but devote herself to her family. On thanksgiving evening, Jena opens the door to see Frank´s beautiful colleague, Rachel, looking very much like the woman Jena hopes to become. What Jena doesn’t know is that this thanksgiving evening will be one where she discovers secrets about her father and mother which ultimately change what she thinks about the word ¨family¨.
